Kaushiki Chakrabarty is magnificently performing a bhajan in raag Bhairavi. She's accompanied on tabla by Subhashish Bhattacharya and on harmonium by Vyasmurti Katti. On tanpura: Julia Ohrmann. In April 2007 Kaushiki was on tour for a week in The Netherlands and in Belgium and this is a recording of the final concert during this tour, Sunday 15 April 2007 in Amsterdam, in Het Tropentheater.

Malhar, or the rainy season, represents the various emotions associated with romance. While Ravi Shankar’s sitar does full justice to Miyan-Ki-Malhar, a creation of Miyan Tansen, while Mallikarjun Mansur delivers Ramdasi Malhar in his vintage Jaipur-Atrauli style.
